Our Organizational SMS Policy

These policies apply to all centers
This SMS Policy is designed to comply with U.S. telecommunications laws including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA guidelines, and Twilio A2P 10DLC requirements.
1. Overview
SID Centers Inc. offers SMS/text messaging services to provide:
Program updates
Event reminders
Emergency alerts
Mentoring communications
Volunteer coordination
Fundraising communications (if opted-in)
Participation in SMS messaging is voluntary.
2. Opt-In Consent
We obtain prior express consent before sending SMS messages.
Users may opt in through:
Website forms (unchecked consent box required)
Program enrollment forms
Paper consent forms
Keyword opt-in (e.g., texting JOIN to [number])
Consent language must include:
Organization name (SID Centers Inc.)
Description of message types
Message frequency disclosure
“Message & data rates may apply”
Opt-out instructions

Consent to SMS is not required to participate in programs.
For participants under 18, parental/guardian consent is required.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency may vary depending on participation level but will not exceed reasonable program-related communications.

Users may opt out at any time by:

After opting out, users will receive one confirmation message and no further SMS communications.

6. Data Use & Protection
Phone numbers collected for SMS purposes:
Will not be sold or shared for marketing purposes
Will only be used for SID Centers communications

7. Prohibited Content
SID Centers will not send:
Adult content
Illegal content
SHAFT content (Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco) to minors
Misleading or deceptive messages
Political messaging (unless properly registered and compliant)
8. Age Restrictions
Participants under 18 require verifiable parental consent.
Messaging will be program-related and appropriate for youth audiences.
9. Record Retention
SID Centers maintains records of:
Consent forms
Opt-in timestamps
Opt-out requests
To demonstrate compliance with TCPA and Twilio requirements.
10. Carrier Disclaimer
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
11. Modifications
We may update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date.
